CORSO LINGUA INGLESE – LIVELLO COMPETENZA A2
DURATA 50 ORE

Progettazione basata su un percorso mirato all’acquisizione di competenze linguistiche ai fini del raggiungimento del livello di uscita A2 del QCER.

Aim of the course

The aim of this course is to guide the students through the acquisition of English Language and its grammar. The modules provided will carefully take into consideration the CEFR Levels, starting from A1 to A2. Every lesson is structured as the following: language lesson (theory and examples), students’ participation and use of the grammar they have acquired (methodology: peer tutoring), and 40 minutes of practice (written mode: cloze test, multiple choice etc.), conversation (e.g.: brainstorming). At the end of every module, the students will show what they have learnt taking a short text based on grammar, reading and comprehension. At the very end of the course, the students will be capable of creating their own content (such as writing their own Cover Letter and CV).

Modules subdivision

The project aims to present 2 modules of 25 hours, including one hour at the end of every module which will be useful for the teacher to test every student at the end of every module.

Module 1
A1 beginners: 25 hours

At the A1 CEFR level, a language learner:
–Can understand and use very basic expressions to satisfy concrete needs.
–Can introduce themselves and others, ask and answer questions about personal details such aswhere he/she lives, people they know and things they have.
–Can interact simply as long as the other person speaks slowly and clearly.

Module 2
A2 elementary: 25 hours

At the A2 CEFR level, a language learner:
–Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to dailysituations, such as shopping, family, employment, etc.
–Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
–Can describe in simple terms aspects of their background, immediate environment, and mattersin areas of immediate need.

Topics for every module

Module 1 – 25 hours:
Introduction of the course + brainstorming words; Present Simple; Present Continuous; Adverbs of Frequency;  To Be & To Have; The Definite Article;  One hour test.

Module 2 – 25 hours:
Some and Any; Question words; There is There Are; Countable and uncountable nouns; Past simple; Comparatives; One hour test.

Total time: 50 hours.

B1 Intermediate: 25 hours

At the B1 CEFR level, a language learner:
– Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school or leisure-related topics.
– Can deal with most situations likely to arise while traveling in an area where the language is spoken.
– Can produce simple connected texts on topics that are familiar or of personal interest.
– Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes, and ambitions, as well as opinions or plans in brief.

Module 2
B2 Upper Intermediate: 25 hours

At the B2 CEFR level, a language learner:
– Can understand the main ideas of a complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialization.
– Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.
– Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

Topics for every module

Module 1 – 25 hours

Past continuous vs Past simple; All Modals; Relative clauses; Future forms; Present Perfect Simple; Reported Speech; One hour test.
Present Perfect; Continuous Conditionals (0, 1st, 2nd); Third Conditional; Used to and Would; Passive forms; Focus on Modals: Can Could and Would for invitations, offers, requests and permission; One hour test.

Module 2 – 25 hours

Future Continuous and Future Perfect; The Past Perfect (Simple and Continuous); Review of past tenses and comparison; Wish Rather If Only; Relative Clauses, defining and non defining; Past Participle and Gerund; One hour test.
Unless, Even If, As long as; Gerund vs infinitive; How to talk about preferences; How to write in a formal way; Greetings; Application and Cover Letter (Introduce yourself and aim at you career!); One hour test.

Total time: 50 hours
